4 AIRLINES GET NEW NAIA TERMINAL ASSIGNMENT

MANILA, Philippines — Starting today, four international airlines will move to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 from the NAIA Terminal 1.

This is in line with the Schedule and Terminal Assignment Rationalization program of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

The MIAA said Jeju Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Thai Airways and Gulf Air would transfer to NAIA Terminal 3.

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines will begin operating its international flights at the NAIA Terminal 1 on June 16.

Last April, China Southern, Jetstar, Scoot and Starlux airlines transferred to the NAIA Terminal 3.

“We are satisfied with how well these carriers transitioned. This is a result of months of coordination with the airlines and ground handlers,” the MIAA said, noting that only two percent of the passengers were misrouted: 28 at Terminal 1 and 43 at Terminal 2.

No passengers were offloaded as a result of the terminal reassignments.
