PRIDE EVENT RETURNS WITH MOVE TO 'BIGGER' SITE
Swindon and Wiltshire's annual Pride event is expanding to a "bigger location", organisers have said.
The pageant is moving from Queens Park, where it has been sited for the last two years, to the GWR Park in Swindon.
The event, which is now in its 16th year, will take place in the centre of the town's historic Railway Village on Saturday 10 August.
Organisers said the new location will "provide the perfect canvas for a Pride experience like no other".
Swindon Pride started in 2008 and quickly expanded to become the Swindon and Wiltshire Pride event.
The event aims to promote equality and diversity within the community and works to end discrimination to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender populations.
Paul Stewart, chairperson of the charity, said: "This is a hugely exciting moment for us and our supporters as we expand to a bigger location right in the heart of the community.
"The extra space means we have more freedom to create an unforgettable celebration full of memories that will last a lifetime."
